Guidelines

Who can enter?

Anyone can get involved! We want to see designs from as many members of our community as possible, whether you’re a professional artist, doing it in a unit, or just having fun drawing!

There are no limits on what type of art you do - so get creative with pens, paints, or your drawing tablet!

How do I submit my design?

Designs must be sent to GuidersAgainstTransExclusion@gmail.com with the subject heading ‘PRIDE BADGE ENTRY’ by 11:59 on May 8th.

Any submissions after this time will not be accepted.

Can I use AI?

We will not accept any art that is plagiarised from someone else's work. This includes the use of AI.

Any work found to have used AI, or plagiarised other artists' work will be eliminated.

What details should I include or avoid?

The badge is to represent anyone who believes that Pride is a celebration, and they should be proud of having it on uniforms/blankets etc. Therefore, designs must be appropriate for all audiences. It also means that we recommend using lots of colours!

Please also be aware that any tiny details may not translate well onto a badge and may be missed at production. We therefore suggest you avoid small details like this.

Please use the template as a guide for our usual layout of circular badges. The design must clearly include our name, 'Guiders Against Trans Exclusion', although it can be in an alternative position if preferred. We do not mind if you include the year 2026 or not, as pride is not a one-time event.

What permissions am I giving GATE by sending in a design?

By entering your design in our competition, you are providing permission for us to post the artwork on our social media and use it on merchandise now or in the future.

If your design wins, then we will ask your permission to share your name.

How is it going to be judged?

The GATE lead team will receive all entries, and once the entry period has closed, review all of the entries together.

The lead team will then judge the designs on creativity, theme, and practicality (how well it will turn into a real badge).
