Welcome to the Guiders Against Trans Exclusion website!

Guiders Against Trans Exclusion, or GATE for short, is an unaffiliated organisation made up of people involved with Girlguiding who disagree with their decision made on the 2nd of December 2025 to exclude trans girls and young women who want to join the organisation. We are a collective of members, volunteers, parents and allies who want to make it clear that trans girls belong in Girlguiding, where ALL girls belong. We are excited to launch our new website today!

This new site allows us to share our work with a wider audience and enables our members to be as involved as much (or as little) they like. Alongside our new badges, we can make resources and information more easily available, and we will be hosting our upcoming campaigns here (keep those eyes peeled 👀).

We want everyone who is part of our movement to feel supported and get involved, as much as they are safe and able to. The organisers have a lot of exciting things in the works and we look forward to sharing them with you! We will be posting updates to this blog regularly, as well as a newsletter sent out every few months. 

As we have done for the last month, keep talking about this, write to wellbeing@girlguiding.org.uk and to your MP, and encourage people you know to sign the petition. If you or anyone you know has considered resigning over this decision, please sign the collective letter of intent to resign. If you have been prematurely pushed or bullied out of your role by anyone, contact safeguarding@girlguiding.org.uk as this is not acceptable and breaks current policy. No one should be forced out of roles or being kicked off leadership training - this advice has come straight from HQ.
