Let’s get ready to rumble!

Girlguiding have broken their promise and are now directly discriminating against trans girls and women. This cannot be justified and betrays the very basis of the movement, which is for ALL girls.

Inclusion is part of the fabric of our organisation and we are trained by Girlguiding to be inclusive, to be true to ourselves and our beliefs, and to stand up when something is wrong and say no, I will not let this happen on my watch. Within the programme we teach girls to take action and to live by the values of the Guide Law and their Promise every day. That is why we are protesting, because that’s what Girlguiding taught us to do.

We will be protesting at midday on Sunday 12th April in:

LONDON

BELFAST

EDINBURGH

NORWICH

BATH

BIRMINGHAM

Check out the linked posts for a map and other key information. Share this with people who may support us, including local politicians, and invite along any pride organisations you know. The more the merrier!

Please remember to abide by our code of conduct and listen to organisers and marshals, who will be wearing hi vis. Hopefully the sunshine will hold out but remember to check the weather forecast and dress accordingly!

Do NOT engage with counter protesters. We can sing louder than they can shout, so bring your best singing voices ready to make some noise. You can look at our songbook beforehand - organisers are printing some copies, but please do share as we can’t do enough for everyone! You can find our other protest resources here.

We also have a quick guide for how to sing the songs and chants, although you don’t need to know them to join in (and this is just a quick guide, not a polished product!).

Under 18s can attend protests only if accompanied by a trusted adult.

If you can help marshal or speak at the protest (either your own testimony or read one of our top 10), please do get in contact! The more the better so we can all have a good time.

Are you coming along? Send us photos of your signs, we’d love to see them! And if you can’t come this time, why not do some challenges from 100 for 100 or take part in GATE Online. Send submissions via the website or email.

NB:
there are many protests and counter protests happening tomorrow (11th) as it is almost one year since the Supreme Court ruling, but if you attend please be aware these will be a very different environment to our protests.
