Today, 31st March, is International Transgender Day of Visibility! We want to celebrate our community and all trans people, both in Guiding and out. At GATE, we will keep fighting for trans rights and their protection. Trans girls and women belong in Girlguiding and they deserve to feel safe, supported, respected and included.
We have been very busy over the last 4 months, and we are not done yet. We will be out protesting again on Sunday 12th April across the UK, and we had an amazing time on Saturday attending the Together Alliance march in London and Trans Pride Scot in Edinburgh. Check out our speech at the latter.
To celebrate, we have put together a video with all your amazing contributions. We know that this doesn't reflect everything our community has achieved, so do remember to send in submissions of your work! We are so proud of you all and everything we have done together.
We hope you all are staying safe and looking after yourselves in the wake of Girlguiding's policy change last week. We will keep fighting for equal rights and the inclusion of trans girls and women in Girlguiding and will not stop until Girlguiding is for ALL girls once again. See you on 12th April.
